Actually, I just realized that Amazon had this for $2677.48 for a brief 10 minutes on October 24th, so technically this isn’t the “new lowest” price; but almost no one got to buy it for $2677.48. Also, that was 2% rewards, and this is now 4%.

I haven’t heard anything upcoming about that lens. My personal opinion is it’s due for a double-dip soon. (The last week of December 2012, Adorama sold the 70-300L in a one-day sale for $1099.)
