    If I could buy just one it’d be the EF 200-400 F/4L IS USM 1.4 Extender, it’s the most versatile of the 3.

      Yes, however, it is the most expensive, and at 500mm you’d be at f/5.6 due to the extender.

      It’s also the heaviest of the three. And can’t go past 560mm. They all have their merits

      I have the 500. Sometimes it’s too close and you can’t move away without disturbing what you’re photographing. Combo of the 500 and the 200-400 would be ideal. But I wouldn’t trade the 500 for anything.

    I think that the 300…..2.8 is the best deal of the three. It’s fast and add a 1.4 to it you have a great reach!! That price is very good….esp for an 2.8 IS LENS. My 300 is not IS so a tripod is needed about all the time!
