Is the $69.95 a good tripod for 5d Mark III with 70-200 f2.8 lens?

I don’t think so. I didn’t see any reviews on that tripod, and don’t know anything about it personally, but if you’ve spent all that money on a body and glass, I wouldn’t take a shortcut with a tripod. I have the same body and the 70-200 f2.8L IS II and my Induro carbon fiber tripod does the job for me at a fairly reasonable price. I have a Sirui K40X ball head on it.

I thought about picking one of these up as a back-up or travel tripod but it doesn’t have any reviews.

Benro tripod is very good! I am happy with my 6 years old Benro. I don’t think it’s gitzo good but not necessarily worse than other brands we heard more often.

I got one – hope it can reasonably handle a 6D with 100-400 L II.

I spend the extra $20 to get the “larger” or more sturdy version (holds up to 17lbs…) and a plate that’ll work with my blackrapid setup. I hate having to remove plates just to use my strap.
