Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 OS C + Free Bonuses for $699 at B&H

B&H Photo Video has an excellent deal on the Sigma Contemporary 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM, it is now only $699.00. This is the first discount that we’ve seen on this recently released lens!

In addition to the $100 savings from the regular price of $799, you also get some nice free bonuses: a Sigma 67mm WR UV filter, and a Sigma USB Dock, a $129 value. This lens was already at a fantastic price point, and this deal makes it sweeter. Although the lens is slightly slower than the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II, this will be a great option at less than half the price.

I own the 100-400, and yes, the build quality and AF speed/tracking are much better, but for someone one wants less weight and/or can’t afford $1000 more, this is a great alternative.

Tested this lens at a local shop, and Photo Plus Expo definitely worth the investment. The only thing that I’m having a hard time with is deciding between this and Tamrons 100-400, which I also tested at PPE.

Tim Galvelis, could you make much of a determination as to which had better autofocus? Did they seem equally sharp?

Scott Weberpal I prefer the canon but the other is a very good lens ……i like the canon because they are very good weather sealed

Sharpness was very good. Knowing that the Tamron is faster at f4.5, I still find myself leaning towards the Sigma. I definitely need to play with both of them some more, away from PPE, to be able to give a real answer.
