Finally bit the bullet and ordered a refurbished 100-400 Mk II to replace my old Mk 1 model. Thanks CPW – your service has saved me a lot of $$ over the years.

When you add tax, the price of a refurbished is similar to a street price of a new one without tax. I can’t see why buying refurbished.

    Currently, Canon 100-400 L II refurbished is on sale for 1,559 from 1,759 before tax, while the street price for a new one is 1,679 no tax. Maybe this sale is not good enough?
