Total scam. I ordered one the last time this came up and on contacting the Canon store they said that they didn’t have any in stock, although I even got an email saying, “In stock.” Beware.
It’s not a scam. The problem is the inventory at Canon Direct’s Website is not accurate and does not update immediately. As soon as some of these lenses show in stock, like the 28-70, it is gone within seconds. However, the website does not update it. Next time this happens, I suggest placing your order ASAP and then calling them directly to speak with a sales rep. They are able to confirm your order and their inventory
