The Best Deals in the Refurb Sale: RF 85L DS, 24-105L, 50 f/1.8, R7

[Editor’s Note: We wrote this post yesterday, but the lenses already all sold out overnight! It’s a good reminder how fast great deals can sell out in the refurb store. We think the analysis remains useful so we’re still sharing this — hopefully something will be restocked!]

The Canon Store is running a rare January refurbished sale and there are some nice deals on refurbished lenses and cameras. Here are our picks for the best deals in the sale.

  • RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS is now $1899.00

Why? The price of $1899.00 is the new lowest refurbished price seen yet for the RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS, beating the previous low by $100.

  • RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM is now $799.00

Why? This isn’t the lowest price ever, but other than for five brief minutes during Black Friday 2024, we haven’t seen a lower price for this refurbished lens for over a year. Given all the pent-up demand, this lens has been very popular during this sale.

  • RF 50mm f/1.8 STM is now $99.00

Why? This is within $10 of the lowest price seen throughout 2024 for this refurbished lens — a great deal, and only $20 more than the refurbished EF counterpart!

  • EOS R7 is now $849.00

Why? This is within $50 of the lowest price seen yet for this refurbished camera (except for a brief price mistake) and the lowest price within the last 7 months. This camera was not significantly discounted at Black Friday.

Check out our refurbished stock tracker for a list of all items available, or the refurb livestream to watch the restocks. Refurbished items from the Canon Store come with a 1-year Canon USA warranty.

I would include the RP in this list. It ties its historic low refurbed price. And for what it is, it’s still a very powerful little camera, especially given it’s now going on 6 years old. I got one last year and am surprisingly pleased by it’s performance in just about every situation I’ve used it in.
